Expired or ending tenancies

What to do when a lease has expired, archive it, or handle expired-but-active tenancies.

When a lease reaches or passes its end date but the tenant is still in place, it may show as expired or "expired but active".

  1. ManageLeases – Use filters or the Pending / Expired but active view (if available) to find leases that have ended or are due to end.
  2. Expired but active – You may see a list or modal of leases that have passed their end date but are still running (e.g. rolling). From there you can archive them when the tenancy has actually ended, or amend/append to formalise a new term.
  3. Archive – When the tenant has left or the lease is no longer in use, archive the lease so it no longer appears in active lists. You can still view archived leases from the leases list if your app supports an "Archived" filter.
  4. Before the end date you can send a renewal (amend/append) or notice as per your process; once the tenancy has ended, archive the lease to keep your list up to date.
